The Woodstock Community Center (WCC) is a community gathering place in the core of the Woodstock Village Center. For the past four years an Open House has been held to celebrate the center and to honor the partnership between the Friends of the Woodstock Community Center and Portland Parks & Recreation that keeps the center open. Join us in creating a unique experience and celebrating our neighborhood. You can contribute in the planning phase, or on the day of the event, with set up and clean up. Interested in helping? The Woodstock Neighborhood Association along with neighbors will be putting on an Easter Egg Hunt in Woodstock Park. Children are invited to hunt for eggs and pose with the Easter Bunny. You can contribute by helping to plan the event or help the Easter Bunny hide eggs in the park on the day of the event. Help is also need for handing out prizes or joining a park cleanup crew before and after the hunt. Click here to fill out a form to receive more information, alerts and volunteer opportunities.
The Woodstock Neighborhood Association’s annual plant sale takes place on the Saturday before Mother’s Day at the Woodstock Community Center. You can contribute by dividing and potting up plants from your garden and bringing them to the Community Center the afternoon before the day of the sale. Friday afternoon and evening before the sale help is needed with pricing and organizing plants. On the day of the sale volunteers are needed to help set up, to be part of the sales team and to assist with cleanup. Money raised is used for community projects- recently for expenses related to keeping the Community Center open. In August we invite the entire neighborhood to join us for an afternoon of live music, free games and activities sponsored by local organizations, churches and groups and of course, delicious food served up by local restaurants. You can contribute to this event in many ways. Team leaders are needed to aid in organizing the picnic. People are needed to work the day of the picnic. This is an opportunity to volunteer at a fun event, get to meet all your neighbors while listening to music and eating ice cream.
